THE PROPERTY |
The Count House is a character detached stone and slate 3/4 bedroom property C1834. It is believed to have been built by John Taylor as an accounting house for the Lisburne Mines Company. Mining ceased in the 1920’s and the Count House was divided into 2 cottages.
Set in .75 of an acre site, the property included a Grade 2 listed mine entrance, known as Lefel Fawr. The key stone of which is en scribed 1785 with crossed pick axes. Lefel Fawr is a fine example of a horse-level and is accessible for approx 1.25 miles from the entrance in the garden wall. Included within the ground is the old stone and slate Smithy which had planning consent for conversion until 2006 when it was allowed to lapse. It may be possible for this to be re-applied for. |
